Repent your sins!

Supposedly, the world is going to end this Saturday, May 21, at approximately 6:00 pm.
Why?
It has been calculated by Harold Camping, an Engineer and Biblical Scholar, that Judgement day will be this Saturday. Mark it in your diaries: Lord Jesus Christ is returning!
I think I'll put this in my diary (If I had one): "Old fool dies of mass embarrassment when world doesn't end."

This predicted date will mark exactly 7,000 years since Noah's Flood: The first destruction of the Earth.
Camping believes this marks the second and permanent destruction of the Earth.
Camping has indeed made predictions in the past marking the end of the world that did not turn out correctly calculated. He believed that in 1994, Christ would return.

I'm not sure on the evidence in the Bible that would back this up, but I personally do not believe the world is going to end this Saturday.
And besides, isn't the world supposed to end December 21, 2012?
And let's not forget all the other times the world ended:

• Y2K
  January 1, 2000. The 2 date year system in computers was to end at 99 and rollover to 00. Speculation insisted that all computers would fail, planes would fall from the sky and the world will end.
  I found a rather interesting thread dating from August, 1999. It's only short, but I thought it was pretty cool.
• SARS
  In 2002, the SARS outbreak in China was declared a pandemic and was potentially very lethal on a massive worldwide scale.
• The Large Hadron Collider
  In 2008, a huge machine was scheduled to be switched on to send atoms around in a circle at intense speeds in an attempt to physically split atoms apart when collided, for research purposes. Scientists working on the machine declared that there was a small chance that a small black hole could be created that would suck up the earth, inevitably destroying it. September 10, 2008 marked the end of the world.
  
• Swine Flu
  Another influenza pandemic, this time in 2009.

Just a few examples I remember dying. Okay okay, I didn't die and neither did you.

So, I guess the morale of this Blog is: This world is not going to end this Saturday. At least, that is what I believe.
But just in case it does; On Friday, I will party like there is no tomorrow!

I did some quick googling and the world is set to end at 6pm New York time.
This means for us in Perth it is going to be 6am Sunday 22nd May.
Time zones are a bitch.
